Firefighters busy on tuesday

Tuesday afternoon the Bakersfield Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 4701 Beechwood Apt 86 in south Bakersfield. Firefighters found a fire in the kitchen and contained the blaze in about 15 minutes. BFD Arson Unit investigating the cause of the fire. Residents in neighboring homes were without power for only about an hour. No injuries were reported. BC
ARVIN FIRE
Tuesday morning The Kern County Firefighters swarmed on a house fire in the 500 block of Hanson Lane in Arvin. The fire was contained to the rear siding and lower portions of the roof. Firefighters had the fire out very quickly. Firefighters were able to save approximately $100,000.00 of property and contents. However, the fire destroyed an estimated $25,000.00 of property value.The cause of the fire is believed to be attributed to a connection from the water heater to a propane tank. There were no reported injuries.BC
